Podcasts and leaves

I’ve been very excited this week to find the podcast app on my phone and the world of podcasts, especially as the ones I’ve found have benefitted my mental health and fed my love of stitching.

The podcast group (are they called sites, groups or something else?) I found on mental health is Calmer You by Chloe Brotheridge who wrote ‘The Anxiety Solution’.  The first podcast I listened to was a Q&A session which covered depression, anxiety in kids and the good points about anxiety.  These were really relevant to me this week and I felt positive and uplifted at the end of it.   There are lots more of her podcasts to listen to and it’s always good to have a boost to your mental health.

The second podcast group I found was Stitchery Stories by Susan Weeks.  This is full of interviews with textile artists sharing their life in fabric and thread.  I spent a couple of enjoyable hours stitching and listening to the interviews of some of my favourite textile artists and I can’t wait to listen to more.

I’m sure there are lots more podcasts out there to interest me and if you know of any I would love to hear of them.

This week I’ve individually stitched the leaves – lots of threads to tidy up afterwards 🙂

To finish the piece off I used a zig zag stitch around the edge in red thread. Lots of valuable lessons learnt stitching this tree ready to put into practice on another paper stitched piece.
